From reading I have found if your chain case oil level is not to the very top of the site glass at a minimum you are starving the top bearing for oil. A few aftermarket shops are recommending to fill the chain case to the top of the site window then add another 3oz. of fluid. They are saying this will provide plenty of oil to the top bearing .
